what? why doesnt this one have more comments? like, i dont know, something in reference to galileo’s canon ball(s) experiment at the leaning town of pisa that demonstrated why newtons rock is totally in the wrong place on the last frame!

Newton reaches a faster terminal velocity because of the sheer density of his depression.

Or he just jumped off the bridge and drug the rock with him. Its not falling slower, its falling later.

Simple: The rock is the one attempting suicide.

Actually, it looks like he rested the rock on the ledge, leaped off, and used his own velocity traveling away from the bridge to pull the rock into freefall. This would give Mr. Newton quite the head start.

It so reminds me of the look on the faces of the “Lemmings” characters in one of the manuals. Appropriate.

if you place your courser on the top edge of the comic, then move it to the right till a “?” appears (just off the edge of the panel). click that

Finally a web comic that is actually funny. So many of these comics just suck, but ASP is consistently funny! Thank you so much.

Ah, Sir Isaac, knowledge of Gravity alone isn’t enough. You need to learn about elasticity, momentum and a whole bunch of other stuff before you can invent bungee jumping.

      He’s not bungee jumping… he’s committing suicide.

Guys, he’s not committing suicide, he’s just teaching his pet rock how to fly 8]

Galileo tried to disprove Aristotle’s theory that heavier objects of the same material fall faster than lighter ones… The heavier objects don’t fall faster, they just hit harder.
(Although, lighter ones are more easily affected by extra factors, such as wind. With rocks shouldn’t count for too much though.)

Truly, base jumping is the measure of man. Not Newton, he strikes me as a clever writer and person. So…huh?

Actually newton was driven insane by mercury poison and did things like sticking a needle in his eye socket to see what would happen

Wow, Newton could lift rocks like a serious mo*&[email protected]#[email protected]! Damn!

I guess he’s the ancestor of the other super guy that can’t kill himself from the (much) later comic.

I’d like to think that was Newton’s depressed son and Newton, knowing how gravity works, dragged the stone there earlier for his boy.
