I have never understood why each comic is introduced with a seemingly random “There’s a comic here today despite …” statement. Can anyone help me out here?
Just for fun? That’s what I’ve always assumed. Sometimes they can be relevant to something happening at the time, but for the most part I think they are just there for a laugh.
