Happy United States Birthday! For all of our readers who are not in a United State, happy regular day. We mean it.
The comic sans in the hidden comic is a nice touch.
Heh, I noticed too… nothing screams “I don’t know how to use computers” more than Comic Sans.
The fax paper is a nice touch.
If you’ve never worked with a person like him, you are that person.
I didn’t really get it before the hidden comic. Then I realised how silly I am. Also, thanks for the happy regular day, cheers.
“Goodb CRuel wor” may be the saddest thing that ever made me guffaw.
Goodb two inch.
Awww, there should have been some sort of “Hello World! / Goodbye Cruel World” joke worked in there…
Holy [email protected]! The hidden comic was totally unexpected and shocking.
Whenever someone at work sends out an email to the whole site, 100 people hit REPLY ALL and say “take me off this list!”, which then causes 100 more people to get mad and REPLY ALL “TAKE ME OFF THIS LIST TOO!!!” and no one sees the irony.
And attached to that was a picture of him using white out on his computer screen.
took it from awesome to perfect!
As well as the old style printer paper!
At least nobody found out about his tendency to over-dramaticize things!
(His success in connecting his laptop with a circa 1980s line printer make me think he may have been too hard on himself)
what is this hidden comic you speak of?
Best part about the hidden comic: at first I just saw the guy and was like ‘hehehe’. Then I scrolled down and saw the note.
Worst part about the hidden comic: now there’s tea all over my computer screen.
Hitting the wrong button is an honest mistake. Using bad paper is passable. Setting the font size to be too large is tolerable. But using Comic Sans is just one step too far.
See this 2007 Achewood strip for comic relief from comic sans: http://achewood.com/index.php?date=07052007
Did he really have a dot matrix printer?! The sound of that printing probably made him commit suicide. It’s surprising the amount of suicides that stopped simply by the invention of laser & inkjet printers.
Remember Wade, the fish? You should bring him back.. seriously I’d make that my last dying wish if I were dying.
Atleast he’s using Gmail and not hotmail or some other crap.
Although, given comics are usually set in the 90’s, would’ve been nice to see an outlook or such.
Hmmm, our comments must’ve been ‘awaiting moderation’ through the same time and we thought of the same thing; though you submitted much earlier than I.
He says he doesn’t know how to use computers and yet he’s using Gmail, at least he’s doing something right.
What you don’t know is that he worked in an IT department.
Why would he put “folks” in his title if he was only intending to send the email to Bill?
